Original artwork description
This monotype created using the pochoir technique presents the leaves of the Norway maple (Acer platanoides) as a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow. The characteristic leaf shapes do not appear as solid forms but as bright silhouettes emerging from a dark ground—like impressions of leaves drifting in the wind or resting on the forest floor.
The soft, slightly blurred edges give the forms a fleeting quality. Between clarity and dissolution, a dynamic tension unfolds, evoking movement and transience. The repetition of the leaf shapes creates an almost ornamental structure that feels both lively and calm. The image becomes an abstract reflection on nature, time, and the passing of a moment.
