Imperfect Pure – With this work, I am dedicated to the attempt to give simplicity space. Reduction often sounds easy, but it isn’t. Doing without the loud, the obvious, and the potentially superfluous requires courage. And perhaps practice, too. It is precisely this act of omission that is often quite difficult in non-representational painting.
At first glance, the painting appears still, bright, and understated. But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that this surface is neither flawless nor simply white. Subtle traces, slight overlays, and uneven areas remain visible. That is precisely the intention.
Despite its minimalism, this painting brings me a sense of calm. It does not appear empty, but rather open and soothing. It invites you to find peace and pay closer attention to the few details present. I hope to convey this feeling of stillness, clarity, and quiet relaxation through this work.
