Original artwork description
I call my technique carving; it involves applying layers of acrylic paint onto a wooden board approximately 5 cm thick.
Once all the layers have been applied, a carving knife is used to create a new texture within the paint.
Depending on the number of paint layers, the thickness of the application, the choice of colors, and the depth and direction of the material removal, new, multi-layered images emerge.
Another aspect is how the artworks are hung and illuminated.
With a non-uniform or diffuse light source, the pattern of the various cutting directions causes the geometric surface structures to stand out.
