I am an AngloFrench multidisiplinary artist living in Burgundy, France.  My portraits and figurative works have been collected and commissioned across Europe and the US.

I take my art seriously but I try not to take myself seriously.

I interpret the experience of living on to paper, canvas or into sculpture.

Whether human or animal, I relay a feeling of the scene and unguarded moments.

My current favourite medium is charcoal which I use in a variety of techniques on paper and canvas.

Acrylic paints are sometimes adding that to a charcoal drawing for a pop of colour and contrast, and have been used on many a painting in the past. I have also created intuitive resin sculptures that work on the themes of ageing and abandonment.

I now use fewer colours, preferring the monochrome softness of charcoal, and have been moving increasingly towards conveying people/scenes through less detail so that the expression and energy can come through.

I now run a more ecologically aware studio, which will continue to improve. Charcoal is already a good medium and I use recycled paper now for originals. Future painting or charcoal on linen, will include a non-toxic animal-free gesso and vegetable based acrylic paints. I reuse packaging materials where possible.
